Edith’s legacy will live on through a life well-lived, full of generous spirit and unconditional love for family and friends. She will be remembered as a caring wife, sister, aunt, cousin, and a helpful friend who radiated light everywhere she went.
Edith and her husband Bob explored many places together and ventured wherever the wandering road took them. It was all about enjoying their time and lives together. They built a beautiful home together on Cranberry Point on Fox Lake, Yukon, where you could witness her magic touch in the garden, and enjoy the bounty of her harvest, which she shared generously. Visitors would be greeted with the smell of her fresh baking, and delicious meals cooked over the woodstove, and sent home with her famous fireweed jelly.
She had an eye for beauty and admiration for nature which was rooted in her work in forestry, and later as a florist; and that love was reflected in her paintings and photographs. Edith was always behind a camera taking pictures, both capture beautiful views, and documenting special moments with family and friends. We will miss her endearing homemade cards that kept us connected.
Wherever Edith went, she spread so much joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness to God, and a gentle touch full of warmth. Her smile and laughter lit up any room and will be greatly missed. It feels like a light has left this world, but we will continue to carry on that light in our hearts throughout our lives.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Wind River Hospice for their extraordinary kind care during Edith’s final days. At Edith’s request there will be no funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
