Neta was born in Bowie (Montague County), Texas on March 19, 1936, to Carl and Lucille Brown Brooks. Neta attended schools in Bowie ISD until marrying Harold Don Berry on June 27, 1951. H.D. was an oilfield worker for many years and they moved frequently throughout West Texas and the Big Country area for many years, until settling in Canadian, from 1961 through the mid-1970’s. Neta was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille and Carl Brooks; and two brothers, Dale and Carl Jr. She is survived by four children: Richard (Rick) and wife Anne of Abilene and their three children and eight grandchildren; Rhonda and husband Stuart Shelton of Benbrook and their two children and seven grandchildren; Kristi Berry Hargrove of Liberty Hill and her son and four grandchildren; and Ben Berry of Fort Worth. Neta Brooks Berry, age 88, of Liberty Hill, Texas, died peacefully at her home on October 29, 2024.
Neta was born in Bowie (Montague County), Texas on March 19, 1936, to Carl and Lucille Brown Brooks. Neta attended schools in Bowie ISD until marrying Harold Don Berry on June 27, 1951. H.D. was an oilfield worker for many years and they moved frequently throughout West Texas and the Big Country area for many years, until settling in Canadian, from 1961 through the mid-1970’s.
Neta was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille and Carl Brooks; and two brothers, Dale and Carl Jr.
