OBITUARY

Randolph (Randy) KIRKWOOD

1944-2024

Randolph (Randy) Kirkwood was born in Quebec City on Nov. 29, 1944, to Edward Louis Kirkwood and Rita Mary O’Connor. He passed away peacefully at the IUCPQ (Hôpital Laval) on March 27, 2024, at the age of 79. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marie-Paule Hérisset and two daughters Vanessa and Kim-Alexandra (Christian Adam, who was like a son to him) along with five grandchildren whom he adored. He is survived by his sisters, RuthAnn Kirkwood and the late Gail Bischoff (Robert Bischoff); his in-laws Christiane Genest (Jean Genest) and Jacques Hérisset (Sylvie Thériault); and many nephews, cousins and friends.

He had many interests and passions – woodworking and cooking, just to name a few. He also had a lifelong commitment to fitness.

His family would like to thank the nurses and doctors who cared for Randy in his final weeks at the IUCPQ.

The family will receive condolences at Église St-Félix de Cap-Rouge (1460 Rue Provancher), on June 1 at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. and a reception at Quai 1635 (4155 Chemin de la Plage Jacques-Cartier). Interment will take place later in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Your sympathy may be expressed by donating to the Quebec Heart and Lung Institute Foundation (418-656-4999; fondation-iucpq.org). Forms will be available on-site.
