Memorial services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, Dec. 16, at the First Baptist Church in Pampa with Rev. Byron Willliamson, pastor, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory. The memorial service will be livestreamed through the funeral home website, www.carmichael-whatley.com. Rocky was born May 17, 1948, in Canadian, Texas, to Chester and Ernestine Lucas. He graduated from Canadian High School in 1966. After high school, he went on to Texas Tech University and earned his bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. On June 10, 1967, he married Carolyn Perkins in Matador, Texas. They celebrated their 56 years of marriage. Rocky and Carolyn lived most of their lives in Pampa and Ransom Canyon. While in Pampa, Rocky was a member of the First Baptist Church. Rocky worked for Purina Mills as a salesman for over 32 years. He retired in 2009. He was a member of the Pampa Lions Club, involved with the Boys Scouts of America, and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Rocky was an avid sports fan, especially the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Texas Rangers, and Kansas City Chiefs. He enjoyed camping, golfing, and anything his kids or grandkids were involved in. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; daughter, Krista Hughes, and husband Tony; two sons, Scott Lucas and wife Lyndsay and Justin Lucas and wife Kristina; grandchildren; Kamryn Lucas, Casen Lucas, Isabella Brockway, Aaron Brockway, Seine Basta, and Libertie Basta.
