In loving memory ~
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tove, having succumbed to complications after surgery.
Survived by her husband W. Jim Gahr, daughter Karin, grandkids David (Jessica) and Harley, and family in Canada and Denmark. Predeceased by her son, Kim.
Tove lived a full and adventurous life from immigrating to Canada and living in a variety of communities across the country. When she met Jim 40 years ago, the adventures only increased. They travelled to many ports of call, Rv’d, explored and volunteered throughout their marriage. Tove loved to entertain; from putting on a Danish smorgasbord to the meetings of the wino’s club. Always gracious, always stopped to smell the flowers, always gave.
Tove was a member of Power Pioneers (BC Hydro), the Danish Club, winos club, and volunteered for many years at many organizations including the Port Theatre, and various orphanages in Mexico, providing healing treatments at Haven House and to others. Her list of accomplishments is long.
A celebration of life will be held at the Port Theatre in Nanaimo on Thursday, June 22, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with service at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
