Emily May Blatchford (nee Baldock)

Today we celebrate the life of our Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, and Great-Great-Grandma, Emily May Blatchford (nee Baldock). Mom lived to the grand old age of 95, finally reuniting with Dad on November 22, 2023, just short of her 96th birthday. Em was the youngest of 4 daughters growing up with her family in Bamberton, B.C. It was there she met Dad where they started their journey together, raising 6 children in Youbou on Cowichan Lake and retiring in Ladysmith. Mom’s house was always full of love and friends, and her table was always open to the strays we kids brought around for a meal. She was strong and courageous with a sharp wit. She loved her family fiercely, defending and never judging them. Em is survived by her children Rob, Kerry (Carol), Joanne, Pat (Linda), Tony (Nirm), and Tami (Tanya), along with 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Harry Lloyd; her Dad, Harry Prestige; her Mom, Beatrice Mary; her sisters Bea, Dot and Edie; her son-in-law, Jim; and her grandson Thomas. A memorial service will be held in January.
