A private family service will be held at a later time. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian. Madelyn Josephine Cain was born August 17, 1931, in Canadian to J.C. and Jennie Lee Cain. She attended and graduated from Canadian High School. Madelyn married Harlan Hartness and to that union they had three children. She worked as a real estate appraiser. Upon her return to Canadian, Madelyn was a member of the First Baptist Church and taught the Senior Women’s Sunday School Class. She was a beautiful needlework artist. Madelyn was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clyde Cain and Dale Cain; and a son, Michael Hartness. Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Hume and husband Randy Isaacs of Centennial, CO, and Lisa Morgan of Morrison, CO; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Kay Cain of Edmond, OK and Lynn Cain of Lubbock.
