OBITUARY

Beatrice ROY LOCATELLI

1924-2024

We are heartbroken to announce that Beatrice slipped away peacefully in her sleep on May 9, 2024, at Saint Brigid’s Home to join all those that she has loved and missed over the years. She was 99 1/2 years old! Beatrice leaves to cherish her memory her sister Hortense; her children Elizabeth (Yvon), Aldo (Celine), Chantal and Tanya; as well as her beloved grandchildren Rowena (Frank), Nicole (Jimmy), Amelia (Michael), Johnny, Vanessa (Mathieu) and Karine (Berthier); great-grandchildren Eli, Benjamin, James, Renee, Tahlia, Tristan, Clare and Chloe; and many nieces and nephews. Beatrice was predeceased by her beloved husband John and daughter Claire; her parents, Bernadette and Télésphore; sisters Alexandra and Elizabeth and brother Benson.

Beatrice’s most precious gifts were her family and friends, and she was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Throughout her life, she was commit- ted to caring for family members and all those that needed help. Beatrice loved nature and cottage life at Lac Saint-Charles where John fished and she foraged wild mushrooms and they entertained family and friends. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s League, Quebec Arthritis Association, Quebec Mycological Association and Quebec Symphony Orchestra.

Beatrice loved Saint Brigid’s Home staff, residents, volunteers and activities, including mass, bingo, Sound- Beam, garden strolls, painting, fitness and spa days where she got her nails painted pink – her favourite colour. Everyone at Saint Brigid’s Home loved Beatrice as she was so kind and gentle, and the family extends our deepest appreciation to them for their caring and kind ways with her. Tanya was mom’s primary caregiver and visited her almost every day, playing Skip-Bo, colouring mandalas and enjoying each other’s company.

As per Beatrice’s wishes, cremation will take place. A private Celebration of Life will be held for family and relatives on June 19, 2024.
