Family visitation will be at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 5-6:30 pm. Funeral services will be at 10 am Thursday, February 1, at the Canadian Methodist Church with Rev. Lewis Holland, officiating. Burial will follow at the Miami Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian. Charlotte Ann Christopher was born June 14, 1939, in Pampa, to Orval and Mabel Christopher. She graduated from Miami High School. While working at the Drug Store in Miami, Charlotte met Don Schaef. They were married on September 4, 1959, in Miami. Charlotte and Don made their home in Canadian, where they raised their family. Charlotte was a part-time photographer and a full-time homemaker. As a photographer, she took family photos in her basement studio and took prom pictures for years at Canadian High School. Charlotte was an active member of the Methodist Church. For years, she sang in the choir and taught the Kindergarten Sunday School class. She took great joy in crocheting prayer shawls for people in need and making Angels for the Hospice Community. This past Christmas, at age 84, Charlotte presented her children and grandchildren with hand-made quilts and pillows that she had made from Don’s jeans and shirts over a 3-month period. She never stopped creating for her family and community. Her family will remember her love for attending ALL their activities, enjoying their competitive endeavors, and blaming the officials for any losses. Charlotte loved all types of animals especially her dog, Beau. For years, Charlotte loved buying Colorado peaches to make peach jelly for family and friends. Charlotte was an independent woman right up to the end. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Orval and Mabel Christopher; husband, Don Schaef; and brother, Charlie Christopher. Those left to celebrate Charlotte’s memory are her children: Sherri Shoaf and husband Jack of Hillsboro, Charlie Schaef and wife Gina of Roland, Arkansas; five grandchildren: McKenzie Shoaf, Jack Wyatt Shoaf and wife Kelsey, Drew Fox, Ben Fox, and Charlotte “Lizzy” Schaef; two great-grandchildren: Kylee Rose Komphaus and Jack Connor Shoaf; nieces Michelle Schaef and Melinda Wyatt, nephew John Christopher, and special friends Sharon and Marty Carr. Charlotte Ann Schaef, 84 of Canadian passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Family visitation will be at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 5-6:30 pm.

Charlotte Ann Christopher was born June 14, 1939, in Pampa, to Orval and Mabel Christopher. She graduated from Miami High School. While working at the Drug Store in Miami, Charlotte met Don Schaef.
