A visitation for Janet will be held Monday, December 18, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Odessa Funeral Home, 1700 N Jackson Ave, Odessa, Texas 79761. A funeral service will occur on Tuesday, December 19, from 10 am to 11 am at Crescent Park Baptist Church, 3002 E University Blvd, Odessa, Texas 79762. A committal service will occur Tuesday, December 19, at 11 am at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 6801 E I-20 Business Loop, Odessa, Texas 79762. Janet Kaye, also known as "Aunt Jan," was born in Hoisington, Kansas, to Joseph and Frances (Grones) Courange on March 22, 1964. She grew up in the Canadian, Texas, area, and has resided in Odessa for the last 38 years. Janet was full of life and was interested in many things. She had a passion for music, and could rarely be stumped in music trivia. Janet loved to go fishing, bowling, and participate in Special Olympics. Janet had great friendships and was known for teasing those close to her with dry humor. She also loved to sit outside in her rocking chair enjoying the sun. Her fun-loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father; brother, Jody Courange; and great-nephew, Camden Lee Courange. Janet Kaye is survived by her mother, Frances Mings of Canadian, Texas; sisters, Patricia Oldenettel of Burrton, Kansas, Donna Courange of Canadian, Texas; brother, Lee (Jana) Courange of Weatherford, Oklahoma; niece, Kassie (Adam) Gilmore of Duncan, Oklahoma; nephew, Chris (Brooke) Courange of Mesquite, Texas; great-nieces, Noelani Courange of Richlands, North Carolina, Avery Courange of Mesquite, Texas, Aubrey Johnson of Mesquite, Texas; her caregiver of 38 years, Lucy Webster of Odessa, Texas; caregiver of 11 years, Crystal Solis; and many other family and friends.
