Mass will be held at 10 am on Saturday, January 4, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Canadian with Father Marco Gonzalez officiating. Burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.Maria was born July 25, 1940 in Jalisco, Mexico. She married the love of her life, Jose Angel Quiroz on November 8, 1956. They celebrated 49 years of marriage before he passed away on February 18, 2006. They moved to Canadian in October of 1979. Over the years, she worked several jobs which include working at Edward Abraham Nursing Home, Lowe’s Grocery Store, and cleaned houses. Maria was a longtime and active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, and cooking. She loved to cook for her family. Family time was always special to her, having everyone together. Maria also enjoyed gardening, especially growing her hot peppers. She always took special care and loved her dogs. Maria’s smile showed her heart. She was always happy and was a kind, loveable person. Maria was preceded in death by her parents; son, Roberto Quiroz; two sister, Juanita Esparza and San Juana Miramontez; and a brother, Julian Salas.Survivors include her four daughters, Reyna Martinez and husband Eriberto of Canadian, Angie Reyna and husband Rolando of Canadian, Rosa Trevino of Faribault, Minnesota, and Alicia Quiroz of Canadian; 11 grandchildren, Dolores Sanchez, Monica Velasquez, Jesus Reyna, Rolando Reyna, Jr., Melinda Sanchez, Rosita Soria, Alex Rodriguez, Rafael Martinez, Adriana Perez, Robert Quiroz, Jr., and Lupe Dehoyes; 27 great-grandchildren and 4 great- great-grandchildren.
