In Loving Memory ~
After a lengthy illness, Antonio’s suffering ended with great dignity on May 27, 2023 at the age of 94 years.
Antonio will be remembered by his son Mario (Adriana) Zavarelli; daughter Rosemary (Leo Jansen) Zavarelli; grandchildren: Nichole Dill (Kyle Richardson), Tony Zavarelli, Gino (Britney) Zavarelli; six great grandchildren; stepson Victor (Debbie) Woike; stepdaughter Ellen Hearsey; four step grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren. Antonio was predeceased by his first wife Filomena (DiCapite) Zavarelli; second wife Elsa (Woike) Zavarelli; parents Carmen and Rosa Zavarelli; sister Anita Colantonio; brother-in-law Vincent Colantonio; sister Elena Zavarelli; daughter Elena Jeune, and grandchild Mike Jeune.
Antonio immigrated to Canada in 1953 to work in Jasper, AB for CN Railway. In 1957 he moved to Vancouver Island to start working at Crofton Mill. Antonio worked at Crofton Mill for 25 years until he retired in 1991.
Dad was jack of all trades. Built all his own homes, mechanically inclined, wine making, loved gardening and cooking. Dad also enjoyed travelling all over the world with his wife Elsa.
Antonio will be sadly missed, but remembered with fondness by his family and many friends. The Zavarelli family would like to give thanks to Cairnsmore Place and a special thank you to Ron, Karen, Heidi and Gail.
A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, June 12, 2023 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, 2085 Maple Bay Road, Duncan, BC, V9L 5L9.
