In loving memory ~
Joe Usipuik, (95), of Campbell River, British Columbia, left us on July 18, 2023. Joe, (Coho Joe) was born on April 17, 1928, on a farm near Wynyard Saskatchewan. In 1955 Joe married Elizabeth (Liz) and moved to Campbell River in 1956. He was employed during the construction of the Ledore and John Hart Hydro projects. Joe then went to work at the Elk Falls Pulp and Paper mill in 1957 where he worked until his retirement in 1989.
He was an avid gardener, who also enjoyed outdoor activities such as camping at Mcivor Lake and mushroom picking. However, Joe’s passion soon became fishing, and he spent many years fishing at the cans and Francisco Point. He believed in keeping active and walked daily even in his final days with us. Joe was known for his positive attitude and genuine smile.
Joe leaves behind Liz, his wife of 68 years, and four daughters Darlene (Jim), Deb (Evit), Sue (Barry), and Sandy (Kim). Joe also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Shawn, Kyle, Jason (Shannon), Melanie (Jonny), Corey, Tyson (Stacy) and Brittany (Sean), and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Evergreen Seniors Home and Dr. Rob Ramsey, and are grateful for their loving and compassionate care provided for Joe.
Keep on Smiling Joe!
