In loving memory ~
Great sadness fell on our community after three and half years of struggling with the challenges of Alzheimer’s, Alan passed away at home on May 18, 2023 in the arms of the love of his life Valerie.
Alan was born on June 15th, 1946 in Dove Creek on Vancouver Island. He is survived by his wife Valerie, son Jay (Lorie) and siblings Nancy (Polo), Richie (Debbie), Bonnie and David (Paulette). Plus many many nieces and nephews too many to list … they all loved him as “my favourite uncle”. Al was predeceased by parents Stan and Pauline and his older brother Lee (Phillis). There was never a dull or wasted moment in Alan’s life. Best known in our community for starting Demxx.
Al spent most of his life in Victoria, where he started out running a logging company owned and operated Attica, a house moving company, including demolition and Surplus City all before he moved to Fair Road Coombs in 1986 where Demxx was born. Alan worked hard and played harder than most, leaving endless memories in many hearts of those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are made to Bowser Senior Housing Society or Deep Bay Fire Hall or their own favourite charity in Alan Parkin’s name.
Condolences may be offered to the family at [email protected] or www.qbmemorials.ca
