KELLY WAYNE TOMBLIN News Staff Thu, 01/26/2023 - 03:10 Small Image Body Kelly Wayne Tomblin, 61, of Happy, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, in Lubbock. Services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at the First Baptist Church of Happy with Rick Bloodworth, minister of Church of Christ in Happy, officiating. Burial will be in Happy Cemetery. Kelly was born on May 24, 1961, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Jesse and Beverly Ann Tomblin. He worked hard his whole life, and for the last 20-plus years, he was a night watchman at Cactus Wrangler Feeders. Kelly married his best friend and love of his life, Glennewyn ‘Sissy’ Benson, on June 19, 1985. They were married for 37 years. Kelly is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one nephew. Survivors include his wife, Glennewyn ‘Sissy’ Tomblin; eight children: LaTonya Croxdale and fiancé Zack Dugan, Randy Phillips and wife Shelly, Marcy Cloud and husband Matt, Amanda Phillips, Stephanie Oatman, Kelly Tomblin, Jesse Tomblin and wife Leah, and Mary Johnson; 22 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers; and one sister.
