Larry, a long time Yukoner, passed away peacefully at the age of 78 after a short stay in Whistlebend Place with his 3 children, grandchildren and friends by his side.
Larry grew up in the lower mainland where he met and married his wife of 44 years. His work with the telephone company brought them north, moving to the Yukon 52 years ago, arriving in Watson Lake. His work with Northwestel brought him to Whitehorse in 1986 where he has resided ever since.
After retiring early from Northwestel, Larry filled his time volunteering and running his own businesses. He enjoyed teaching Scuba Diving, First Aid, and volunteering with many organizations over the years.
His love of water led into many scuba diving, boating and fishing trips with his friends over years creating many happy memories for him that he spoke of fondly.
He is survived by his Aunt Marj, his 3 children Eric, Douglas (Judy), Laura (Edwin) and his grandchildren, David, Tessa, Gabrielle, Ethan and Amy. Predeceased by his wife Judy, his sister Heather, and his parents.
We would like to express our gratitude for all the staff at Wind River place.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
A service will be held at Heritage North November 5th, at 1:00 pm
