Visitation will be Thursday, July 20, from 6 to 8 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home. Interment will be Friday, July 21, at 10 am at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 11 am at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Derrell Monday officiating. Nettie was born Thursday, May 7, 1931, in Augusta, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Andrew Lee Kinsey and the late Lelia Mae Ogle Kinsey. She married John Sones on May 21, 1966, in Iowa Park, Texas. John passed away September 17, 2002. Nettie grew up on a farm in Augusta, Arkansas, where she danced and sang her way through Laura Conner’s High School. She then graduated from Draughon Business College in Memphis, Tennessee. She was voted Miss Droughon in 1951. Nettie was the Postmaster at the Oklaunion Post Office from 1988 to 2012. From 1964 to 1973, she was the Secretary for the Fire Chief of the Wichita Falls Fire Department. She also worked with her husband at Merchants Motor Freight. Nettie grew up in the First Baptist Church in Augusta, Arkansas, and then attended Vera Methodist Church in Vera, Texas. Nettie is survived by two sons, Robert Kinsey Rogers of Oklaunion, Texas, and James Stuart Rogers and wife Debbie of Wylie, Texas; two daughters, Mary Lynn Hogan and husband Mark of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Marilyn “Susie” Coffman of Vera, Texas; one sister, Lavern Padgett of Panama City, Florida. Nettie also leaves behind three grandsons, Hardy Michael Coffman, Matthew Clay Coffman, and James Braeden Rogers, and one great-grandson, James Grayson Rogers.
