OBITUARY: EVA TIMMONS News Staff Wed, 07/31/2024 - 11:11 Subheader body August 8, 1934 — July 31, 2024 In-page image(s) X Small Image Body Eva Timmons, 89, of Canadian, formerly of Lefors, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 in Canadian.Services will be at 10 am on Saturday, August 3, at the First Baptist Church in Lefors with Rev. Rick Timmons, pastor at Central Baptist Church in Canadian, officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Heights Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 2, from 6 pm to 7:30 pm at the funeral home.Eva was born on August 8, 1934 in Granite, Oklahoma to Charles and Lois Owings Morgan. She moved to Pampa at a young age with her family and attended school in Pampa through the eighth grade. Eva married Tony Lee Timmons on January 6, 1950. She was a stay-at-home mother when her children were younger and enjoyed taking care of her family and her home. When her children were older Eva began working at the Lefors Grocery Store and later Marie Foundations in McLean. She then went to work at the Lefors Credit Union and was promoted to manager after taking bookkeeping classes. Eva retired from the credit union in the early 2000’s.She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and making candy during the holidays. Eva was a wonderful homemaker and loved helping others. She also enjoyed singing at church and teaching Sunday school. She served at a number of churches during her life including Fellowship Baptist Church, First Baptist Church in Lefors, Cornerstone Baptist Church, and Central Baptist Church in Canadian. Eva loved serving her Lord and used each of her gifts to serve Him.She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lois Morgan; her husband, Tony Lee Timmons; son-in-law, Ted Cochran; two brothers, Winston Leon Morgan and Bud Morgan; one sister, Velma Deering; and one brother-in-law, Ray Timmons.Eva is survived by her two children, Lea Ann Cochran of Chickasha, Oklahoma, and Rick Timmons and wife Sherry of Canadian; five grandchildren, Eric Cochran and wife Tera, Jason Cochran, Brad Timmons, Jarrod Timmons and wife Jocelyn, Erica Sheffield and husband Sam; twelve great-grandchildren, Bryce Cochran and wife Traci, Raylan Cochran, Justin Cochran, Ransley Cochran, Chancee Cochran, Dalton Cochran, Sorrel Shay Sheffield, Sterlin Sheffield, Emilee Timmons, Tanner Timmons, Avery Timmons, and Emery Timmons; two great-grandchildren, Jaxson Cochran and Zakariah Cochran; one sister-in-law, Pearl Morgan; and one brother-in-law, Charles Timmons and wife Betty.The family would like to extend a special thanks to the wonderful staff at Mesa View Senior Living and Hemphill County Hospice for the love and care they showed Eva during her time there.Memorials may be made to Mesa View Senior Living, 106 Teas Cir, Canadian, Texas, 79014. Eva Timmons, 89, of Canadian, formerly of Lefors, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 in Canadian.

Eva was born on August 8, 1934 in Granite, Oklahoma to Charles and Lois Owings Morgan. She moved to Pampa at a young age with her family and attended school in Pampa through the eighth grade.
