OBITUARY: JACK LLOYD GILL News Staff Fri, 09/22/2023 - 11:46 Subheader body December 6, 1931 - September 13, 2023 In-page image(s)   Body Jack Lloyd Gill was born December 6, 1931, in Lipscomb County Texas to Leland Henry Gill and Clara Cocanowen McAllister. Jack passed from this life on September 13, 2023, at the age of 91. Jack began his adult life serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was proud of being a veteran. After the war, he went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad until retirement. He loved to dance and especially enjoyed square dancing. He loved to visit and never met a stranger. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his son Dennis Gill, a daughter Kathy James, stepsons Lance Yarber and Stan L. (Punkin) Yarber, granddaughter Cassi James, and aunt Wilma Hart. He is survived by a daughter Sandra Trout and husband Lonnie; a son Rhoan Gill; son-in-law Billy James; granddaughters Jamey Walding and husband Daron, Kimberly Rylant, Kelli Bergen, Shawna Owens and husband Mark, Mindy Lee and husband Josh; grandsons Cody James, and Tracy Trout and wife Shanna; cousins Scott Davey and Anita Anderson; and many other family and friends. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Mesa View Senior Living Staff and Hemphill County Hospice for the wonderful care given to Jack. A viewing was held on September 15 at Mason Funeral Home. Services were held on September 16 at the First Baptist Church in Shattuck, Oklahoma, with interment at the Higgins Cemetery following that afternoon. Jack Lloyd Gill was born December 6, 1931, in Lipscomb County Texas to Leland Henry Gill and Clara Cocanowen McAllister. Jack passed from this life on September 13, 2023, at the age of 91.
