Peggy graduated from high school in Hennessey, Oklahoma, in 1950. She graduated on a Friday and married Charles Heusel the following Monday in Hennessey. In 1968, they moved with their children to Canadian, Texas. It was there they homesteaded five acres of land. She moved to Canyon, Texas in September of 2023. Peggy was a member of the Methodist Church in Canadian where she sang in the church choir. She loved being a member of her Lunch Bunch and regularly played bridge with other couples. She was a modern-day pioneer woman. She cooked from scratch, sewed, gardened, helped take care of all the animals, and embraced the simple country lifestyle. She was a loyal patron of the Canadian Library. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband of 70 years, Charles Heusel. She is survived by her three children, Mark Heusel of Amarillo, Texas, Angela Reasor and her husband Mark of Canyon, Texas, and Zevin Heusel of Canadian, Texas. She is also survived her sister, Dennis Winters of McAllen, Texas; two grandchildren, Mallory Reasor of Canyon, Texas, and Cole Reasor and his wife Camille of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; and one great-granddaughter.
