In loving memory ~
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Robert Stimpson on May 25, 2023.
Bob was born in Winnipeg on June 10, 1930, to a family of 10 children. Bob is survived by one older sister.
Bob is predeceased by his wives Barbara and Carol and is survived by numerous nephews and nieces and his dear friend Dorothy Browning.
Bob had a 36-year successful business career working in sales and sales management with DRG Globe Envelopes in Ottawa and Toronto.
Bob spent the first 30 years living in Winnipeg, he moved to Ottawa in 1960 And to Toronto in 1973. His final move was to Arbutus Ridge on Vancouver Island in 2001.
Bob and Carol had a summer home in Lake Country Ontario and a winter home in Florida.
From a young age, Bob had a passion for golf playing his first game at age 12 and his last game at age 92.
Along the way, he won 2 Manitoba Junior Championships at the ages of 17 and 18.
He represented both Manitoba and Quebec in 4 Willingdon Cups. He also won 2 golf club championships at Pine Ridge in Winnipeg, 6 championships at Ottawa Hunt Club and 5 championships in Toronto at Thornhill Golf and Country Club and numerous Senior championships at Arbutus Ridge.
In 1963 he was named golfer of the year in Quebec.
Bob made lifelong friendships along the way.
Bob was an intelligent caring and thrifty individual who will be missed by many.
There will be no funeral service as per his request.
