In loving memory ~
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of David in a horrific motorcycle accident. Our hearts are broken as we try to get our heads around this.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Tracey, stepsons Michael and Marcus, sisters Jodie and Leslie Justice, and many nieces and nephews.
David was a recovering alcoholic with nearly 30 years of sobriety. He worked through the program diligently and made many friends within this group.
David was an avid mountain biker, and Tracey had embraced this sport shortly after they met. Most weekends, the two could be found out on the trails with the Nanaimo Club or exploring and riding on their own. He loved the challenges mountain biking gave him and always embraced the chance to be outdoors, biking or fishing, his two favorite things to do.
David had many jobs over the years but found his niche working at golf courses, surrounded by Nature’s peace and beauty. He was on his way to work at Fairwinds Golf Course the morning he died.
David will be remembered for his gentle nature, quick wit, and dedication to becoming a better person. There are no words to express our loss. We have some comfort knowing that our Mom was there to greet him with open arms.
A Memorial ride to spread David’s ashes is planned for Sunday, July 23, 2023, at 10 a.m. Meet at Doumont Rd. Main Parking Lot, followed by a Celebration of Life from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Nanaimo Rugby Club, 6700 Dover Rd., Nanaimo.
