Josef Zeindler

Josef Zeindler was born in Switzerland and was a successful business owner/operator of an automotive manufacture shop after serving military duty. He founded the Swiss Harley Davidson Club, served as President, and biked all over Europe.

He had a desire to see Canada, so Josef and his wife, Verena Sr arrived in Montreal, Quebec from Switzerland June 9, 1987 and drove to Haines Junction, Yukon where they owned and operated the Stardust Motel. After Verena Sr died Josef moved to the Nygren subdivision and continued working in the hospitality industry with his second wife, Anna Zeindler hosting many guests from Switzerland.

He loved the outdoors, especially the mountain view from his back yard. Josef was musically talented and played several instruments.

After Anna’s death Josef’s health declined with dementia and he was moved to the Copper Ridge Care facility.  We are so thankful for the Copper Ridge staff who treated Josef with compassionate kindness and dignity, and provided many opportunities for entertaining activities he could enjoy.

Josef leaves behind his children: Verena Jr (Armin), Ellen (Andy); Grandchildren: Marc (Manuela), Nathalie, Sascha (Cassie), Samantha, Kevin; and Great Granddaughter, Nova.  He was predeceased by Verena Zeindler Sr, Anna Zeindler and his son Josef Zeindler III.

A private ceremony was held to honor Josef.
