In loving memory ~
Donna passed away peacefully on June 5th at home with her family by her side at the age of 87.
Donna is predeceased by her brothers Vincent and Lyle Watson and her sister Molly Howse. She is survived by her loving husband Jim, her daughters Darlene (Greg) and Linda, grandchildren, Amy (Matt), Adam (Brittany), Sara (Garret) and Garth plus seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Donna was born in the small town of Castor, Alberta and moved to Glenora with her family in 1947.
She attended school in Duncan where she made many lifelong friendships and met the love of her life, Jim. They married in 1955 spending 67 wonderful years together.
Donna worked in the office of Eaton’s Department store before staying home and raising her girls for 20 years, returning to work in the office at Beaver Lumber in 1980. She volunteered for the Heart and Stroke Foundation and was a “Grannie” at Mothers Morning Out for more than 20 years. Donna was a loving, caring woman who enjoyed travelling, camping, fishing, card playing and visiting with family, friends from school and the Horseshoe Club gang.
The family would like to thank the Home Support Workers and Nurses who gave Donna wonderful care in the last few months allowing her to stay at home with her family.
A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 17th at 1 p.m. at Duncan United Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Clements Centre Society in Duncan.
