In loving memory ~
Trevor Gordon Esslinger, passed away on June 18th, 2023, at the age of 61. Trevor had suffered numerous strokes over the past 11 years, his body finally had nothing left to give and simply gave out on him.
Trevor is survived by his parents, Clarence and Claudia Esslinger of Qualicum Beach, sister Kelly (Carrots) Dykstra ( h. William) of Qualicum Bay, and brother Garnet Esslinger of Comox, BC. uncle Robert Albanese of Parksville, Mitchell Albanese of Courtney, and Samantha Albanese of Parksville. Trevor was also a special step-father to 4 daughters Tiffany (Alberta), Stephanie (Penticton), Victoria (Victoria), and Brooke (Prince George) and granddaughters Riley (Tiffany), Serenity (Victoria) and Tilly (Brooke).
Trevor was predeceased by his wife, Jo-Anne Marie Larocque. Trevor married the love of his life, Jo-Anne Marie Larocque, on September 2, 2000, in Prince George. They were married for almost 7 years before Jo-Anne became ill and passed away on August 9th, 2007.
Trevor’s work history dates back to his island days before Prince George became his main stomping grounds. Trevor worked as a bus driver, a driver for Mayco cement company, worked for BC Rail in Prince George, a long haul truck driver for years between Alberta and BC, Worked driving a haul truck at the Kemess Gold mine for years along operating graders, bulldozers and even had a blasting ticket, he often talked about blowing stuff up got a great kick out of that. Trevor was involved in the teddy bear toss one winter at the Prince George Spruce Kings hockey game dressed as Santa Claus going out onto the ice and you guessed it down went Santa. Trevor was an outdoor enthusiast, who loved ski doing, fishing, quadding and of course moose hunting. Lots of trips to Tezzeron Lake and the Nazco areas over the years, lots of forgotten tales and stories that should remain forgotten and a lot of friends made over the years. Trevor was fond of an occasional barley beverage, those of us that know him can appreciate this statement. Trevor was a singer, loved the song Brown Eyed Girl and sang it every chance he could. Trevor was everyone’s friend and bigger than life itself until life dealt him his current hand which slowly robbed him of who he was, in the end, it was sadness yet relief that his journey had come to an end.
At the request of the family, there will be no memorial service, each is being asked to take a moment and reflect on their memory of Trevor and make that lasting impression of him.
