In Loving Memory ~
Anne passed away quickly but peacefully from complications after a fall.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years Al (Alan), her children Tami (Alan LeMoine), Shaun (Colleen), Shelley (Eric Edwards), Erin (Jeff Childs), four grandchildren – Mark (Shania), Scott, Gabi (Damon) and Cam, and one much-anticipated great-grandson.
She is also survived by her other grandchildren Clay LeMoine and Amanda Leonard, as well as her brother Tom (Brenda) and sisters-in-law Muriel, Doreen, and Ann, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Anne was born in Dundas, ON and raised in Hamilton. She moved to Banff as a hairdresser in 1956 where she met Al – an RCMP officer and married him there in November 1958. Al’s career moved them all over Alberta – Calgary, Jasper (2 times), Edson, Edmonton, and back to Banff.
After retirement, they settled in Nanoose Bay, bought a boat, and thoroughly enjoyed all that the island had to offer!
Anne was a proud volunteer of the SOS, an active member of the Parksville Legion, and enjoyed multiple crafts, golfing, and gardening. She was incredibly proud of all her grandchildren and their accomplishments and liked nothing more than attending their sporting events & activities to cheer them on!
As her and Al’s health declined, she moved to Cokely Manor when Al moved to Arrowsmith Lodge. She was his faithful and most devoted companion, and you could find her most days holding his hand and watching movies.
She, herself, had just recently moved up to Arrowsmith Lodge and was looking forward to enjoying that community. She was full of life and determination, and while there was never a party she didn’t enjoy, lately she liked nothing more than a glass of wine with friends and family. She will be sorely missed.
The family would like to extend their overwhelming appreciation to the care aids and management of Cokely Manor and Arrowsmith Lodge for their wonderful care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Arrowsmith Health Care (2011) Society or the local Parksville Legion Branch #49 in her name would be appreciated.
A celebration of life will be held in the future.
