In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother and grandmother, Kathleen Margaret Maki on June 06, 2023. Kay was born in Nanaimo, British Columbia on April 22, 1929 and was predeceased by her husband, Roy William Maki. They raised a son, Karl, and a daughter, Karen.
Kay worked for Telus (formerly known as the British Columbia Telephone Company) until her retirement. Kay was dedicated to her family and all their children. She was an excellent homemaker with interests in gardening and bird watching.
Kay will be lovingly remembered by her two children Karl (Linda) of Sooke, B.C. and Karen (Bart) of Comox, B.C.; her grand children, Anthony Maki of Langford, B.C., Katrina Maki of Nanaimo, B.C., Jennifer (Adam) Sawula of Comox, B.C., and Nicholas (Shea) Boers of Edmonton, Alberta, as well as, her nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the Doctors, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, and Social Workers at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital for the care they provided for Kay during the last few weeks of her life.
At Kay’s request, there will be no service. Cremation to follow.
