Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, June 27, at the Hillside Christian Church Chapel, 6100 S Soncy Rd., with Pastor Bob Schroeder officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.Born in Canadian on July 13, 1940, to Arthur and Marie Hodges, the family moved to Dumas in the early 1950s. She played the clarinet in the band at Dumas High School and graduated in 1958. After a short courtship during the summer of 1958, she married her sweetheart, Charles Clifton Gober, on October 25, 1958. Virginia loved to sew and was an avid reader. She taught Sunday school to three-year-olds at Paramount Terrace Christian Church for many years, demonstrating her love for children, which extended to caring for her own family.She enjoyed spending time working in her flower garden, playing Bunko with her friends, and collecting salt and pepper shakers and teapots. As a family, Virginia and Charles enjoyed taking their children camping and fishing, making many memories in the mountains over the years. She especially enjoyed traveling to Fun Valley in South Fork, Colorado, and Cheyenne Mountain State Park in Colorado Springs, Colorado.Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Charles Hodges and one son, Ronald Gober.Virginia is survived by her husband, Charles Clifton Gober, of the home; one daughter, Cindy Page and husband John of Bedford; one sister, Sandra Stavlo and husband Robert of Sunray; three grandchildren: Justin Ledford and wife Marisa, Sarah Ledford and husband Nic, and Amy Gober; and one great-grandson, Jackson Hughes.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Turn Center or a charity of your choice.
