Trevor Clifford Koonoo Langenhan

Trevor’s life began in an inlet of the Davis Strait in the Qikiqtaaluk Region of Nunavut, Canada on January 9, 1972, called Frobisher Bay (now known as Iqaluit). At the age of 52, Trevor passed away peacefully, but suddenly, in his home on March 1st, 2024. He was son to Mikle and Wayne Langenhan, and brother to Kelly and Clay. As a young man, Trevor made his way to the big city, Yellowknife, where he met Marie.

Together, they later moved to Whitehorse, Yukon in 1995 and married on August 24th, 1996. Whitehorse was considered “home,” and it is where he stayed to raise his three boys, Brandon, Jordon, and Logan. Even though Trevor and Marie separated in 2014, they never lost their forever friend bond together, and maintained a meaningful and close relationship through the rest of his years. He so loved his first grandson, Braysen, who was born in 2020. Every minute he spent with him, he cherished.

Trevor was a kind and generous man, and tried to be the best father he could to his boys. His family was the deepest source of pride and love he had. He was especially close with his sister, carrying a lifelong sibling bond that was unique and will be forever missed by Kelly. There are so many he touched in his life, including Sharon Roberts and family, who he shared a deep connection with like family. He will be missed dearly by so many.

In Whitehorse, Trevor made a career as a Commercial Flooring Installer. He started out specializing as a tile setter. Trevor did not give you just a tile job; every job was a work of art, and much care and detail was invested in the granite or marble tile floors, or bathrooms and kitchens. He always gave his best and invested time for thoughtful and meticulous designs for his customers. He took great pride in his work, and he worked many, many long days and nights. Through this career, he gained a large work family with Canada Flooring where he made lasting friendships. It was hard not to; his friendly demeaner and cheery, helpful attitude touched many. We know he will be dearly missed at work.

Trevor had diverse interests over the years and made sure he took the time to have fun too. He loved fishing and playing hockey on the rinks with his kids, but when he found the golf course he was hooked. An avid golfer, he spent many sunny days on the course and found his long-time passion there on Men’s Nights with the Canada Flooring team at Meadow Lakes Golf Course. Men’s night golf was always a hobby he looked forward to after a long Yukon winter.

Trevor is survived by his wife Marie Langenhan; sons Brandon, Jordon and Logan of Whitehorse, Yukon; parents Wayne and Mikle; sister Kelly Joy and brother Clay of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories; nieces Mackenzie, Kayla and Scout; nephew Cameron and grandson Braysen; father-in-law Kirk Smeeton (Grettel); brothers-in-law Warren Smeeton (Janice Sibbeston) and Jonathan Smeeton; nephews and nieces Kole Smeeton and Kierra Smeeton; and many beloved cousins, aunts and uncles all across Canada.

We would also like to acknowledge his beloved cat, Bud Bud aka “Cool Bastard.”

Trevor is predeceased by his grandparents, Bert Langenhan and Vivianne Langenhan and his mother-in-law, Margaret Smeeton.
