Arthur Bernard (Bernie) Froud

In loving memory ~
Bernie Froud, age 87, passed away peacefully and surrounded by love in Nanaimo, B.C., on June 8, 2023. He was born to Arthur and Mary Froud in Victoria, B.C., on July 2, 1935.
Bernie will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife of 63 years, Ronita (Ronnie), daughters Marie (Terry), Maureen, Janet and Sharon (Dale) and brothers-in-law Larry McKinty and Bob Riddler. Dad also leaves behind grandchildren Trent (Jen), Nicole (Andrew), Jenna (Rory), Chad and Jillian and great-grandchildren Aubrey, Ava, Annabelle and Elliot. Dad was deeply devoted to Mom and loved his family.
Mom and Dad raised their family in Sooke and then moved to Nanaimo. Dad was known for having many interests, diverse knowledge, a love of nature, and a sense of humour. He had many hobbies over the years, but his long-term interests were gardening, cooking, photography and woodwork.
Bernie was predeceased by his parents, sisters Linda Granger and Donna Riddler, and sisters-in-law Dianne Morgan, Joan Dunc, and Marlea McKinty.
The family is grateful for the excellent care and treatment provided by Dr. Dodo and the staff of the Nanaimo Seniors Village. They shared laughs with Dad and always acted with compassion to maintain his dignity. Special thanks to Crysalin, Terrie, Nicole, Rosa and Tamatha.
