In loving memory ~
It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye to a wonderful father, grandfather and friend to many. Dad passed peacefully at home with his family after years of progressed Alzheimer’s.
Dad was born in Arjeplog, Sweden and immigrated to Canada in 1957. predeceased by his wife Irma Shannon, son John Robert, as well as his parents, brothers and sisters all in Sweden.
He is survived by daughter Deena (Ron) Boweman, and daughter-in-law Leslie Davidson. 5 grandchildren; Eleisha-Lynne Mack, Ashley Patten, Joshua (Ally) Patten, Hunter (Kaitie) Davidson, Erin (Dustin) Davidson; 7 great-grandchildren, Kolby, Owen, Jakob, Natalie, Abigail, Willow and Gunnar. Also survived by his sister Inga-Britt and sister-in-law Rudith. In Sweden and many nephews, nieces and cousins in Canada and abroad.
After retiring from BC Hydro, Dad lived life to the fullest. His passions included travelling to various parts world, soaking up the winter sun in Arizona or spending time with family and friends between Canada and Sweden. Dad’s biggest honour and love was being with his family, whether it was camping, hunting, fishing, bowling, cross-country skiing, playing horseshoes, gold panning, or passing down heritage traditions through the Sons of Norway lodge as a Chartered Member. There will be a celebration of life on June 24, 2023, at 490 5th Avenue, Campbell River from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. All are welcome to bring stories, memories and photos to share.
